Julie's Notes:

My husband is from South Louisiana and doesn't have any family here. To show my appreciation for all he does for me, I try to learn all his favorite things and this is one of them. His best friends mom made them for our wedding and she passed the recipe on to me.

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 325F.
2
Mix all ingredients in bowl and chill for two hours.
3
Shape into small balls, by rolling between palms and bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 20 minutes. They will not brown.
4
In another bowl add about a cup of confectioners sugar. When slightly cooled, roll each cookie in sugar until well coated.

The recipe I have of this is called "Mexican Wedding Cookies"...I use pecans, some use almonds, walnuts or even crushed peanuts.

I'm from Louisiana as well. We have made these cookies for years, they are wonderful, thanks for sharing the recipe.
