These cookies are very delicious. It has all my favorite flavors, butterscotch and walnuts, along with just a small bit of vanilla extract...LOVE 'EM.

Ingredients For butterscotch-walnut cookies

  • 1 2/3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    milk or water
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 c
    butterscotch morsels

How To Make butterscotch-walnut cookies

    Sift dry ingredients together and set aside.

    Beat butter in a mixer bowl with electric mixer until softened. Add brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk or water and vanilla; beat well. Add the flour mixture; beat until well combined. Stir in nuts and butterscotch morsels.

    Shape into 2 (8 inch) logs. Wrap and chill for several hours or freeze for 1 hour. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
