Ingredients For brown sugar cookies

  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 3 lg
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp
    hot water
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    heaping baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make brown sugar cookies

  • 1
    preheat oven to 350. cream sugar and butter, and eggs. mix soda and hot water, add to mixture, and mix well.

    mix flour, baking powder, salt, and add to mixture one cup at a time. add vanilla. chill batter thoroughly. this is very soft dough, but it can be handled nicely if chilled.

    roll and cut. bake about 10 minutes, but do not overbake. makes a soft cookie.
