No, I got the idea from a Sweet Valley Cookie Company here in Eagle Idaho.

I have a simple semi-version of this. Chocolate Chip cookie dough as bottom layer, chopped Snickers candy bars in middle layer, and cookie dough on top layer. Bake 350 degrees about 25-30 min. Easy and yummy.

I just made these brownie/chocolate bars. They didn't work out. the brownie batter ran all over the cookie dough and all over my oven. I did everything the recipe said.

I am sorry this didn't work out for you. I have never had that problem. Did you cook the brownie for 15 min before putting the cookie dough on top and returning it to the oven at 375?

Made these treats today, and the whole pan ended up in the trash. The cookie dough layer was ok, but the brownie layer was completely undercooked which ruined the entire recipe. I followed your directions to the letter. :(

Sorry to hear you are having problems with this recipe. I make them all the time and NEVER have any of these issues. The pan I use is a Pampered Chef Large Bar pan with sides. Are you sure the pan was big enough? If you are using a 9x13 or anything smaller than indicated in the recipe the brownie will be under cooked.
