My wonderful Aunt Hon's recipe. She's made this as long as I've been on this earth, maybe longer. Not for the kids!!

Ingredients For bourbon balls

  • 2 1/2 c
    crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts, walnuts or pecans are best
  • 1 c
    shredded coconut
  • 3 Tbsp
    light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c
    bourbon
  • 1/2 c
    powdered sugar

How To Make bourbon balls

  • 1
    Mix dry ingredients together (crushed vanilla wafers, supgar, cocoa, chopped nuts and coconut) in a medium mixing bowl.

    Add the light corn syrup and bourbon and mix to combine. Roll into 1 inch balls. Roll in powered sugar.

    These are best kept in an airtight tin or plastic container, seperating each layer with waxed paper.
