Ingredients For aunt thelma's pecan pie bars

  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    dark karo syrup
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1
    egg
  • 3
    beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • pecans

How To Make aunt thelma's pecan pie bars

    Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix for later. Mix remaining mix, 1 egg, and butter. Press into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

    In the meantime, mix the 2/3 cup cake mix with eggs, syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla. Pour into crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
