Got this recipe from my sister. They are quite different and very easy to prepare. The topping is so good and rather crunchy.

Ingredients For applesauce bars

  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 c
    applesauce
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER.
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • TOPPING INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pkg
    butterscotch chips
  • 3/4 c
    chopped nuts
  • 1/3 c
    sugar

How To Make applesauce bars

  • 1
    Cream sugar and butter or margarine. Add applesauce. Mix to combine.

    Add raisins and dry ingredients. Mix until well blended.
  • 3
    Pur into a well greased 11x15 inch pan.

    Sprinkle topping ingredients on top of batter beginning with butterscotch chips and ending with sugar. Do not stir.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool and cut into bars.
