Ingredients For aloha oatmeal cookies

  • crisco spray
  • 1 1/2 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    butter flavored crisco
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh grated orange zest
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    orange or lemon extract
  • 3 c
    quick rolled oats
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 can
    8 oz. pineapple in natural juice, well drained
  • 1 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped macadamia nuts

How To Make aloha oatmeal cookies

    Heat oven to 375 degrees. Coat baking sheets w/ Crisco spray.

    Beat brown sugar, Crisco, egg, orange zest, orange juice, vanilla & orange extracts in large bowl w/ electric mixer at medium speed until well blended.

    Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt, & ginger in medium bowl. Add to shortening mixture, beating at low speed until just blended.

    Stir in pineapple, coconut, & macadamia nuts. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls two inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake 10-12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Cool two minutes. PLace on cooling rack to cool completely.
