My grandmother, Ethel McFarland gave me this recipe about 40 years ago. It is so easy and is made from items in most pantrys. Has that old fashion chocolate taste. Serve hot with ice cream.....yummy. My teenage grandaughter and her friends always request this.

Ingredients For old fashion chocolate cobbler

  • 2 stick
    butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    sugar (additional)
  • 6 Tbsp
    hersheys cocoa powder
  • 3/4 c
    hot water
  • 3/4 c
    milk (additional)

How To Make old fashion chocolate cobbler

    Melt butter in 9 X 13 inch glass pan. Mix flour, 1 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 cup of milk and whisk together and pour over melted butter.

    Combine 1 cup sugar and the cocoa and sprinkle over the flour sugar and milk mixture. Do not stir. Combine hot water and the other 3/4 cup of milk and pour over sugar mixture. Do not stir

    Bake at 350 degress for about 30 to 35 minutes. Serve hot with ice cream or cool whip on top.
