Jessica's Notes:

My aunt has been making these every Christmas for all the kids in the family for as far back as I can remember. They're super quick, easy & CHEAP to make! And I haven't heard anyone ever say they didn't like them!!

These sweet little meringues are so darn cute... perfect for a Spring soiree!

**The "balls" turn out best if you make them on a day that's NOT cloudy, rainy or high in humidity!**

Penny, that's just the meringue that they're made out of. The M&Ms melthed through it making it look like a topping but it's not.

M&M's what a great idea. I learned to make this when I was in junior high (almost 40 years ago and we folded in chocolate chips - they called them suprise meringues! I am going to have to make some!

I want to try them for Easter. How long do they stay fresh? whats the best way to store them?

Joanie, they'll stay fresh for about a week. After that the meringue starts to develop a funky taste. I always store them in a candy tin lined with wax paper. And don't stack too many at a time, meringue is very fragile!
