Easy citrus-cherry thumbprint cookies

- 16.5 oz tube refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- 1/3 c
- 1 Tbsp
- lemon zest
- 1 c
- cherry preserves, like smuckers
1Heat oven to 350. Place parchment paper down on a lg cookie sheet. On floured surface, knead dough, flour and lemon zest until combined.
2Shape dough into 1"-balls. Place dough balls 2" apart on cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 mins, or until golden.
3Using the handle end of wooden spoon, press an indent into center of each ball. Spoon preserves into centers. Let cool. If desired, sprinkle cooled cookies w/ powdered sugar.
