Ingredients For dark chocolate mousse

1/4 csugar

1 tspgelatin, unflavored

1/2 cmilk
-
1 cdark chocolate chips
-
2 tsppure vanilla extract

1 cwhipping cream, cold

sweetened whipped cream, if desired

chocolate shavings, if desired
How To Make dark chocolate mousse

1Stir together sugar & gelatin in small saucepan; stir in milk. Let stand 2 minutes to soften gelatin. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture just begins to boil.

2Remove from heat. Immediately add chocolate chips; stir until melted. Stir in vanilla; cool to room temperature.

3Beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed in large bowl until stiff peaks form.

4Add 1/2 of chocolate mixture & gently fold until nearly combined; add remaining chocolate mixture & fold just until blended. Spoon into serving dish or individual dishes. Refrigerate. Garnish with sweetened whipped cream & chocolate shavings, if desired, just before serving.
