Gina's Notes:

Sweet blondies with decadent Almond Joy Pieces. A quick and delicious treat! You can add slivered almonds, mini semi sweet chips or coconut to tweak this recipe too!

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
2
In mixer cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mix til combined. In a small bowl sift together dry ingredients. Add by 3/4 cupful to creamed mixture til thoroughly combined. Stir in Almond Joy Pieces and any extras you choose to add.
3
Spread into pan, it will be thick, but it will spread out to cover entire pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool several minutes before cutting into 16 bars.

I made this last night. It tasted okay, but not as sweet as a blondie normally tastes. We are going to top it with ice cream for dessert tonight, and that should improve on the sweetness. Next time I make it, I might add maple syrup or another sweetener to enhance the taste. But there are people who prefer not-as-sweet desserts, and this might be better for them.

I sometimes make it with semi sweet mini chips also =} They add a lot to the sweetness. I prefer them without myself. Thanks for your comment =}
