1/2 cup real butter

2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 bags buttery microwave popcorn popped and kernels picked out( you can use regular popcorn but it is not as good)

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (95 degrees C). Place popcorn in a very large bowl.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in soda and vanilla. Pour in a thin stream over popcorn, stirring to coat.
Place in two large shallow baking dishes and bake in preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes, for 1 hour. Remove from oven and pour on to wax paper. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces. DO NOT LET COOL IN PAN! It will stick.

    This is very similar to my Amish Caramel Corn recipe . . . and you're right! It's worth the time!!

    Ok... So I have made 3 batches since Wednesday! First batch hubby had me baggy up so he could gift it to some co-workers... Second batch got gobbled up and gifted out to a few friends.... This third batch is my favorite so far... I used dark brown sugar this time! I sent a 2/3 full gallon ziplock home with my mom & another home with my nephews! I had to put the rest away so there would be some left! Super easy and super great recipe!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
