  In medium saucepan cook milk & sugar on high until boiling. Turn heat down to medium low and cook about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add butter & pecans and bring back to a boil, turn down to medium low again & cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla.

  Spoon onto wax paper and let set until hard.
