2 small pans or 1 large cake pan of candies
butter (the size of a walnut)
In saucepan, boil together sugar, butter, buttermilk, until it forms a soft ball stage in cold water. Remove from the fire, beat until creamy. Pour into buttered pans, cut in squares when cool.
