Ingredients For drema's "pecandies"

  • 1 pkg
    whole pecans, (1lb) shelled, toasted
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 stick
    butter or margarine

How To Make drema's "pecandies"

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Toast whole pecans for about 15 minutes. Remove from oven and place in small bowl. Set aside.

    Place stick of butter in same pan toasted pecans in. Place in oven to melt. Remove from oven once melted. Meantime beat egg whites till very stiff. Add sugar and beat well. Fold in whole toasted pecans gently. Spread evenly over the butter mixture in pan.

    Bake 30 minutes on 300 degreees F. Once starts browing, stir occasionaly. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
