Ingredients For chocolate rum balls

  • 1 pkg
    12 ounces vanilla wafer cookies, crushed
  • 3/4 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 3 Tbsp
    light corn cyrup
  • 1/2 c
    rum
  • powdered sugar

How To Make chocolate rum balls

  • 1
    Combine crushed vanilla wafers, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, the nuts, and cocoa in large mixing bowl. Blend in corn syrup and rum. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in powdered sugar.

    Store in airtight container 3-4 days to develop flavor. Roll again in powdered sugar before serving.

    Variation, Chocolate Orange Balls: Substitute 1/2 cup orange juice plus 1 teaspoon grated orange peel for the rum.
