This is Mary Ella Harrison Bass' recipe, at least 98 years old. She made it in November so it could sit for a month and cure.

Ingredients For white fruit cake

1 lbbrazil nuts

2 lbwalnuts

1 lbdates, chopped
-
1 ccandied cherries
-
1 csugar
-
1 cflour
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
4eggs, seperated

4 Tbspwhiskey or rum
How To Make white fruit cake

1Beat egg yolks and sugar.

2Add whiskey.

3Sift 1/2 cup flour over nuts and fruits.

4Add remaining flour and baking powder to egg and sugar mixture. Mix together.

5Add beaten egg whites last.

6Bake in tube pan lined with waxpaper.

7Bake 275 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
