My grandmother used to make this cake, and just the smell of it brings back so many good memories. I'm not sure why the baking temp. is so low, but I pay heed to it, considering the baking time :).
vanilla wafers, crushed
pecans, in pieces
1Cream butter and sugar.
2Add eggs, vanilla wafer crumbs, and milk.
3Add coconut and pecans.
4Bake at 250 degrees in ungreased tube pan for 1 3/4 to 2 hours.
