I have no idea who Tom was/is. But he sure did have a good recipe for a Chocolate Cake. This recipe was adopted from my friend Roberta.

yield 13 x9 or 2 9 inch cake pans

cook time 30 Min

Ingredients For tom's favorite chocolate cake

2 c

flour
1 tsp

baking powder
3/4 c

cocoa
1 1/2 to 2 c

sugar
1 tsp

salt
1 c

hot coffee
1 c

oil (shortening will work also)
1 c

milk
2

eggs
2 tsp

vanilla extract

How To Make tom's favorite chocolate cake

Sift dry ingredients together, then add other ingredients, stirring well.

Grease and lightly flour large rectangle cake pan or 2 round cake pans. Pour in batter (note: batter will be runny). Bake at 325* for 25-30 mins.
