Gail's Story

Does anyone remember The Spanish Bar Cake that A&P grocery stores use to have? This is about as close as I have found to the real thing!
The first bite brought back great memories YUM!!! I found this on another site a while back and just got around to making it. I frosted mine with a cream cheese frosting and it was perfect.

I remember the Spanish Bar Cakes. My brother & I loved them. A&P no longer makes & sells them. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I can't imagine eating this cake with any other fruit than the raisins it calls for. So don't be surprised if you don't like with your substitutions.
