I know there are a lot of versions of this recipe out there. This is my family's recipe. I think it is called Texas Cake because it is big, rich and has nuts in it.

Ingredients

BRING TO A BOIL TOGETHER:

2 stick
butter
1 c
water
3 Tbsp
cocoa powder

REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD:

2 c
all purpose flour
2 c
white sugar
1/2 tsp
salt

COOL BATTER AND BEAT IN:

2 large
eggs
1/2 c
buttermilk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
baking soda

AFTER BAKING TOP WITH:

1 pkg
mini marshmallows

FOR THE FROSTING, BOIL TOGETHER:

1 stick
butter
3 Tbsp
cocoa powder
6 Tbsp
milk

REMOVE FROM HEAT AND STIR IN:

1 lb
powdered sugar
1/2 c
finely chopped walnuts

Step-By-Step

1After mixing cake ingredients together, pour into a greased jelly roll pan (11x17).
2Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes before topping with the mini marshmallows and drizzling the icing over the cake while it is still hot.
