Lillian's StoryThis is a great recipe to use especially if you are on a diet, or are diabetic. You cannot taste the difference. I like to use a chocolate cake mix and a diet cheerwine, but you can choose and flavor
any flavor sugar free cake mix
12 oz of diet/sugar free soda
1Preheat oven according to cake mix package
2Grease a 9x13 cake pan or a Bundt pan (I usually use Pam with flour)
3Place dry cake mix in a bowl and SLOWLY pour the can of diet soda in with the dry cake mix and fold in SLOWLY (you want the carbonation to stay, as this is what helps the cake rise)
4Pour in the baking dish and bake according to cake mix directions

I love it! That's how my mom used to make her cakes when I was growing up. ^_^ My favorite was her root beer cakes.

Thanks, and like I said......it is soooo easy. You just have to be careful how you fold in the soda so you don't lose the carbonation. I have tried pineapple cake mix & orange soda, but I REALLY like the chocolate cake mix with cheerwine soda....comes out like a red velvet cake
