We always have bananas around-use them on cereal, smoothies in the summer, banana nut bread in the winter-this is a 'company-coming' version of the bread that's really delicious, and the cream-cheese frosting brings it over the top!

Ingredients For spiced banana bars

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    mashed bananas (3)
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg & cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make spiced banana bars

  • 1
    Cream butter & sugar. Beat in eggs, bananas, and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, & pinch of salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

    Pour into greased 15 x 10 x 1 pan. Bake at 350* for 30 mins or until bars test done. Cool.

    Frosting: Cream butter & sugar, gradually add confectioner's sugar & vanilla. Beat well, spread over bars.
