Extremely easy and super moist and delicious. One of my children's favorite many years ago... give or take 30... years that is.. They still love it but as every other adult dieting...What a life...

Ingredients For simple apple cake

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    shortening
  • 1 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp
    hot water
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 2 c
    peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • confectioners' sugar for dusting

How To Make simple apple cake

    Grease and flour an 8 x 8 inch pan

    Cream sugar and shortening until smooth
  • 3
    Add Eggs, Flour and Sugar, mix well

    Stir in the peeled and chopped apples, the chopped nuts of your choice and the cinnamon

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes

    Dust with confectionery sugar or leave plain.
