This is actually my daughters' recipe, because she LOVES cherries, but I've made it and it came out just as good. Meaning it's that easy to make. Because usually she makes these usually elaborate cakes.
Heat oven to 350. lightly spray a 9 x 13" baking pan w/ cooking spray. In lg bowl, combine cake mix, pie filling, almond extract, and eggs. Stir until well mixed. Pour into pan. Bake for 25-30 min, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. In small saucepan, combine Splenda, butter and milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly for 1 min. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over warm cake.
