( 8 oz can ) sauerkraut drained, rinsed, and chopped
1In a large bowl cream butter, and sugar till light. beat in eggs one at a time, add vanilla.
2sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda,salt,and cocoa. add to cream mixture, and alternately with water, beating after each addition.stir in the sauerkraut.
3pour into 9x13" baking pan, bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. cool in pan then frost ( with sour cream chocolate frosting.)
4SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE FROSTING : melt one ( 6 oz ) package semisweet chocolate pieces and 4 tablespoons butter over low heat. remove, blend in 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon salt. gradually add sifted confectionery"s sugar ( 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 cups) to make spreading consistency, beat well.
