Pumpkin Spice Pound Cake with Maple Walnut Sauce

I love to play with my Mama's pound cake recipe and this one was divine! The sauce can be played with - seasoned to your taste - and is even delicious when pecans are substituted and poured over a pumpkin pie!

My finicky sister, who never compliments my cooking, said this was the best cake I've ever made!

PUMPKIN SPICE POUND CAKE

1 box
yellow cake mix
1 pkg
instant pumpkin spice pudding
4
eggs
1/2 c
oil
1 1/4 c
water

MAPLE WALNUT SAUCE

1 c
brown sugar, packed
1/2 c
half-n-half
1/2 c
butter
1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
pumpkin pie spices
1/2 tsp
maple extract
1/2 c
walnuts, chopped

Directions Step-By-Step

POUND CAKE:
Mix dry cake mix, dry pudding, eggs, water, and oil. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 till inserted tooth pick comes out clean (30 - 45 min).

SAUCE:
Bring butter, half-n-half, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and brown sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in Walnuts, vanilla, and maple extract.

Poke holes in cake with a fork while cake is still hot. Pour sauce over cake and allow sauce to soak in.

Serve it while it's hot or cold! Either way, enjoy!
