Penny's StoryThis Dirt Cake/ Oreo Dump Cake became one of my military nephew's favorites, and so easy with different versions.

1 angel food cake
1 (16-oz.size) cont coolwhip
pkg of gummy worms
DIRT OREO DUMP CAKE
1CRUMBLE ANGEL FOOD CAKE INTO BITE SIZE PIECES and PLACE IN A PUNCH BOWL (preferred)
2REMOVE OREO COOKIES FROM BAG AND PLACE IN A GALLON SIZE ZIP LOCK BAG. USE ROLLING PIN TO CRUSH INTO THIN PIECES. ADD CRUSHED OREO'S to ANGEL FOOD CAKE.
3LET COOL WHIP SET OUT UNTIL ROOM TEMP. ADD COOL WHIP TO MIXTURE. FOLD IN AND MIX ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER.
4For Halloween party, place gummy worms in a decorative pattern, hanging out around edge of bowl, as if in dirt. More cool whip can be added if desired for the taste.
Great for children to help! Easy cleanup!

The first time I saw this cake it was in a clay flowerpot with a fake flower on top and several plastic worms around the flower. A bit of the crumbled "dirt" was sprinkled on top of the Cool Whip. The kids loved it!
