Beat together Crisco, sugar, egg, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Add 2 cups flour, cream of tartar, soda and capful of vanilla. Roll dough out on a floured surface with rolling pin that has been floured and not to thick as they rise big and use your favorite cookie cutter. Bake at 350 until a light golden brown. Icing: After cookies cool, ice with a mixture that as been mixed real well of powdered sugar and enough milk to make it spreadable on cookie, but not to thick. And ice and let set till icing has hardened and not sticky.
