Nana Wolfe's Blueberry Coffeecake

This has been a long time favorite in my family. (it was my Nana's recipe) the original recipe called for 2 big handfuls of berries !

Ingredients

TOPPING

1/2 c
granulated sugar
1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1 stick
butter (softened)

CAKE

2 c
all purpose flour
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1 stick
butter (softened)
1 large
egg (room temp)
4 Tbsp
sour cream
3 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 Tbsp
lemon juice
1 pt
fresh blueberries ( remove any unripened) or 1 1/2 c frozen

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven 375

beat together topping ingredients til smooth & creamy, set aside.

mix all cake ing. except lemon juice & berries.
mix till smooth (do not overbeat)

add in lemon juice, mix well

fold in berries

pour into GREASED & FLOURED pan (9x9 sq, 9" round or 7 x 11 pan ( I like using the 7 x 11 pan)

bake at 375 for 25 minutes, remove from oven, spread topping mix gently over entire cake ( it will melt )
return to oven & continue baking for 25 more minutes.
can be served warm or cold & can be glazed if so desired.
