Ingredients For my grandmothers strawberry cake

  • 1 box
    duncan hines strawberry cake(only duncan hines)
  • 1 sm box
    strawberry jello
  • 3 Tbsp
    self rising flour
  • 3/4 c
    crisco oil
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 pkg
    thawed strawberries-use only half
  • 1/2 stick
    oleo(butter)
  • 1 box
    confectioners(powdered)sugar
  • 1/2 pkg
    strawberries,which will be the remaining half of the packageu will use for cake for cake

How To Make my grandmothers strawberry cake

    put first 6 ingredients in bowl and mix well.use only half of the bag of Strawberries.. saving other half for icing..Do NOT beat this with a mixer.use a fork to gently mix well.Pour into 3 greased,floured cake pans.bake on 350 for 20-30 minutes

    for icing--mix well, the other half of strawberries,1 box of powdered sugar,and 1/2 stick oleo(butter)if to thin,add more powdered sugar.Spread over cooled layers and stack layers..BETTER the next day!!!!. or you can bake in an oblong cake pan and frost the cooled cake..making a sheet cake..
