Ingredients For margaret's apple streusel cheesecake bars

  • 1 pkg
    oatmeal cookie mix (1 lb 1.5 oz. pouch)
  • 1/2 c
    butter, firm
  • 2 - 8 oz pkg
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1 x lg
    egg
  • 1 - 21 oz can
    apple pie filling
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • GARNISH:
  • whipped cream, sweetened or cool whip
  • caramel or butterscotch ice cream topping

How To Make margaret's apple streusel cheesecake bars

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom & sides of 13" x 9" pan.

    Place cookie mix in bowl; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly & course. Reserve 1 1/2 C crumb mixture; press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan. Bake 10 minutes. When done, let cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, flour, vanilla & egg until smooth.

    Spread cheese mixture evenly over partially baked crust. Mix pie filling & cinnamon. Spoon evenly over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle remainings crumbs over top. Sprinkle with walnuts.

    Bake 35 - 40 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes. Refrigerate 2 hours to chill. Serve with whipped cream & caramel or butterscotch ice cream topping drizzled over top.
