deluxe yellow butter cake mix
1/2 c

1 box
instant vanilla pudding
1 can(s)
( 20 ounce ) crushed pineapple
1 can(s)
( 11 ounce ) mandarin oranges, undrained
( 8 ounce ) coolwhip or non dairy whipped topping
1 jar(s)
maraschino cherries (completely drained)

Directions Step-By-Step

Lightly spray with Pam or grease and flour (3) 8 inch round cake pans..Into mixer bowl put cake mix, oil and eggs; beat thoroughly..add mandarin oranges and juice...Divide batter among (3) pans..Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes until done..Do not overbake..Cool cake 10 minutes in pan before turning out onto rack to remove cake..To make filling and icing..Mix pudding mix with pineapple (drain alot of the juice off of pineapple)..Fold in cool whip or whipped topping..Spread between layers and use as your frosting for the cake..If desired you can garnish the top of the cake and the sides of the plate around the bottom of the cake with Maraschino Cherries (drain them first really good)..Cut and serve..Remaining cake must be kept in refrigerator..
