Bake Cake by Directions on Box and let cool.
Cook pineapple, corn starch, 1/2 cup sugar and salt in a double boiler until clear and thick.
Add butter, lemon juice and vanilla and mix in well.
Mix Cool Whip and sour cream w/ a few drops of red food coloring (until mixture is pink).
Ice cake with cool whip icing. Put pineapple topping just on top.
