Ingredients For lemon bar trifle

2 call purpose flour
-
1 cpecans, chopped

1 cbutter, melted
- LEMON LAYER:

1 1/2 csugar
-
1/4 ccornstarch
-
1/4 call purpose flour
-
1 3/4 ccold water
-
3 lgegg yolks, beaten
-
2/3 clemon juice
-
2 Tbspbutter
-
4 tsplemon peel
- CREAM CHEESE LAYER:
-
1 - 8 oz. pkgcream cheese, room temperature

3 cconfectioners' sugar
-
1 - 8 oz. pkgcool whip, thawed
How To Make lemon bar trifle

1In a small bowl, combine flour & pecans; stir in butter. Press into an ungrees F. for 18 - 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

2In a small heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch & flour. Stir in water until smooth. Cook & stir over medium high heat until thickened & bubbly. Reduce heat; cook & stir 2 minutes longer.

3Remove from the heat. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks; return all to the pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook & stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Gently stir in the lemon juice, butter & lemon peel.

4Transfer to a large bowl. Cool to room temperature without stirring. Cover surface with waxed paper; refrigerate until chilled.

5In a large bowl, beat cream cheese & confectioners' sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Crumble the baked pecan mixture; set aside 1/2 C for topping.

6Just before serving, in a 3 qt. trifle bowl, layer 1 C each pecan mixture, lemon mixture & cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers twice. Sprinkle with reserved pecan mixture. Refrigerate leftovers.
