Martha's StoryMy family loves this Pound Cake recipe! The original recipe came from a friend and then I changed the recipe to enhance the flavor. I am sure you will love it, too. You can add fresh fruit and whipped cream to the cake or eat it plain.
3 1/2 c
white lily flour, all purpose
3 1/2 c
crisco butter shortening
cream of tartar
vanilla, butter, nut flavoring
1Cream sugar and shortening well. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour after sifting and mix into batter. Add cream of tartar and flavorings.
2Grease and flour large tube pan. (I use Baker's Joy or Pam Baking Spray.)
3Bake one and a half to two hours at 325 degrees.
4After cooking, dust cake with powdered sugar. Serve with your favorite fruit and topping.
