Ingredients
| 1 c | butter (softened) |
| 2 c | sugar |
| 4 md | eggs |
| 3 c | all purpose flour |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 tsp | baking powder |
| 1/2 tsp | baking soda |
| 2 tsp | vanilla extract |
| 1 c | buttermilk or sour milk |
| BUTTER SAUCE | |
| 1 c | sugar |
| 1/4 c | hot water |
| 1/2 c | butter |
| 1 Tbsp | rum or vanilla flavoring |

Directions
preheat oven to 350 degrees spray bundt pan or 10 inch tube pan with cooking spray.In large bowl cream butter, gradually add the sugar, continue creaming until light and fluffy.Add eggs one at a time beating well after each,add remaining ingredients (except butter sauce)beat 2 minutes at medium speed.pour into prepared pan and bake for 60-65 minutes.until top springs back when lightly touched.prepare butter sauce, in small pan combine sugar water and butter, heat until butter is melted (do not boil) remove from heat and stir in flavoring.prick top of warm cake with a fork and slowly pour butter sauce over the top. cool cake completely before removing from pan.

Indeed this is a very delicious and rich cake,My mother baked this cake for us when we were young my favorite way was with pecans baked in it.When I got a hold of it I played with it and tried it with lemon juice inside the cake and in the butter sauce it turned out so good but still just as rich a little went a long way..
