Ingredients

CAKE:
1 bx	duncan hines white cake mix
1 bx	3 oz. blackberry jello
1/2 c	canola oil
4 md	eggs
1 c	mogen david blackberry wine
1/2 c	chopped pecans
GLAZE:
1/2 c	butter, room temperature Visit GoBoldWithButter.com

Jewel's Notes:
I have a friend named Jean and she cooks wonderful. Blackberry Wine is one of the cakes she serves. She is a lady of great hospitality. You always know at her house it will be a real treat. A couple of years ago I was working on a committee to elect my cousin as District Judge (he won). Jean served a great meal for his committee members and this cake was one of her dishes. She even served me a piece on her front porch right out of the oven...YUMMY !!

Directions

CAKE: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Combine all ingredients except pecans. Mix on low speed until moistened, then on high for two minutes. Grease and flour a 10" bundt pan. Sprinkle the pecans in the bottom and sides of pan. Carefully SPOON batter over pecans. Bake for one hour. Make glaze as cake cooks it last few minutes.

GLAZE: Combine butter, sugar, and wine in sauce pan. Bring to a boil on medium high. Remove from burner.

When cake is cooked remove from oven but not from the pan. Punch holes in cake with an ice pick, pour 1/2 of the glaze by spoon fulls over the cake. Let stand 30 minutes. Turn cake out onto cake plate pour remaining glaze over cake in lines that go over cake. Pour a line / stripe over cake every 3 inches. Cool to room temperature before serving.

NOTE: THIS CAKE CAN BE MADE A DAY AHEAD.

HA! I'm sorry . Jewel, I saw Blackberry wine and thought MoganDavid,^_^ Manechevitez(Know that is spelled wrong) and had a flashback! New Year's Eve, Lawrence Welk, Cousins, Granma's house ('cause the folks had a date) sneaking into the kitchen; reeaall sneaky like; and each of us taking a slug (ha) of likker to celebrate. The old folks never knew a thing. But WE were dizzy from it !!!! Wow. Have to try the cake now ~!!!!!

Ladies, It is very good !! Dee, what a cute story, I could imagine you all slipping around. It may have been homemade in a MoganDavid bottle. If so, that is potent stuff. My brother was telling me yesterday about he and a neighbor male buddy (when they were young) sneaking a swig of homemade Elderberry Wine. He said it was in a keg and almost gone, down to the grainy settlings. He said he got a mouth full of that and it made him so sick...LOL
