This is another great cake, I have so many its hard trying to decide which ones to post first.

Ingredients

1 stick
butter, room temperature
1/2 c
crisco
2 c
sugar
5 large
egg yolks
2 c
flour
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
buttermilk
1 c
coconut, flaked
1 c
pecans or walnuts
5 large
egg whites
frosting ingredients
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 stick
butter
1 box
powder sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 c
nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Step-By-Step

1Mix butter, Crisco, sugar and egg yolks until creamy then add flour, vanilla, buttermilk mix again, mix egg whites until stiff then fold in to cake batter. Pour into three cake pans that have been oiled and lightly floured.
2Bake 30-35 at 350*F
3Make frosting and frost the cooled cake, put 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts on top. ENJOY
