Ingredients For iowa chocolate cake

3/4 c

shortening
2 c

sugar
1 1/2 c

boiling water
2 c

all purpose flour
2 tsp

baking soda
1/2 tsp

salt
1/2 c

cocoa powder
2

eggs, beaten
1 tsp

vanilla

How To Make iowa chocolate cake

Put shortening and sugar in mixing bowl and pour over the boiling water. Stir and mix.

Sift dry ingredients twice and add to hot mixture.

Then add eggs and vanilla. Batter will be thin.

Bake in cake pan at 350 for about 25-30 minutes. A glass pan works best.

Let cool and frost with chocolate frosting!
