Ingredients For hot fudge sundae cake

  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts, if desired
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 c
    hottest tap water

How To Make hot fudge sundae cake

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread in 9x9x2 ungreased pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa over batter. now pour hot water over batter. Bake 40 minutes. Serve warm, topped with ice cream. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving. Makes 9 servings.

    Butterscotch Sundae Cake; Subistitute 6 onces butterscotch chips for the nuts. Decrease brown sugar to 1/2 cup and the cup of cocoa to 2 tablespoons.

    The same as above for Peanut Butter Sundae Cake. But just switch peanut butter chips. If you want Mallow Sundae Cake then substitute 1 cup of minature marshmallows for the nuts.
