Holiday Spice Cake
In small mixing bowl, combine cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and all spices.
In larger mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in dry ingredients and the buttermilk alternately, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto cooling rack and cool completely.
If cake layers are domed, slice off tops with a long serrated knife so they are flat before frosting.
