Every year for the Jewish New Year I made my grandmother's family recipe for honey cake. Last year I wanted to do something different and I found this recipe for Greek Honey cake . I served it to the family and it was an instant hit.

1/2 tsp
cinnamon-for cake
1 tsp

FOR SYRUP:
combine sugar, honey and water in saucepan. Simmer 5 minutes.

CAKE: Cream together, softened butter, sugar, eggs and milk.

CAKE: mix in chopped walnuts (original recipe calls for chopped but I found them too heavy, so I grind them roughly in my mini food processor).
