This recipe has been in our family for many (over 70 yrs) years. We watched her make this but never had the recipe written down. Then my Step-father watched it being made and measured for ingred. so we could pass it down. It is very good always works and can be made into cake or muffins. The best cake to use as Pineapple Upside Down.

Ingredients For grandma hunter cake

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp
    soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour all purpose
  • 1 or 2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make grandma hunter cake

    Cream sugar and shortening.

    Add eggs then buttermilk

    Add rest of ingred.

    Bake 350 degree oven for about 30 min. 9x13 pan
