In the yard of the house I grew up in and my parents still live in there is a 100 year old pecan tree, (it is HUGE) it produces gallons and gallons of pecans every year and my mother "Grandma Barbie" to my daughter, nieces and nephews, has become an expert at cooking with pecans! This recipe is best when fresh pecans are used ;)
TOASTING NUTS: FOR 1 1/3 C. NUTS USE 3 TBSP. MELTED BUTTER: POUR BUTTER INTO BAKING PAN; STIR IN NUTS. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 10 MINUTES, STOPPING TO STIR TWICE. LET COOL. NUTS ARE READY TO BE USED IN RECIPES OR EATEN AS IS.
