I have had this recipe for years.

Ingredients

6 c
peeled,sliced apples
1 pkg
german chocolate cake mix
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 1/4 c
water
1/4 c
softenerd margarine
3 large
eggs
1/2 c
chopped nuts

FROSTING:

1 oz
(3) cream cheese..softened
4 Tbsp
margarine..softened
3 c
powdered sugar

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350.
Spread 1/2 of apples evenly in a greased 13"x9" pan.

2In a large bowl mix DRY cake mix,cinnamon,water,margarine,and eggs at low speed until smooth.
Beat 2 minutes at highest speed.
Stir in nuts.

3Pour 1/2 of the batter evenly over apples and repeat layers.

4Bake 40-50 minutes or until it tests done with a toothpick.cool.

5FROSTING:
In a small bowl,blend frosting ingredients until smooth.
Frost cooled cake.
