I cut the cake into squares and
add to my gift plates of Christmas cookies every year.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
raisins
1 1/2 c
chopped dates
1 stick
unsalted butter
2 c
brown sugar
1 1/2 c
apple cider
3 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
cloves
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
soda
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1 c
chopped toasted pecans

Directions Step-By-Step

Simmer first five ingredients for 20 minutes then cool

sift together remaining ingredients except Pecans.
Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients and pour
into a greased 8 inch square baking pan.

Top with pecan halves and bake at 325 for 1-1 1/2 hour.
