This is so worth the time and a fun thing to do and pass on to friends. I got this recipe 20 years ago with a cup of batter. You keep it going for months or years. The 10 day process adds a flavor that is really delicious. But if you don't have batter you will need to make some to start the process...then you will always have batter after that.

Ingredients For friendship cake

  • DAY 1
    recieve(1 cup) batter and place in large bowl, litely cover w/ foil (do not refrigerate)
  • DAY2-3-4-
    stir once each day.
  • DAY 5
    add 1 cup each of flour, sugar, and milk, then stir.
  • DAY 6 to 9
    stir once a day
  • DAY 10
    add 1 cup each flour, sugar,and milk, then stir.
  • STEP 2 is
    give 1 cup each to 3 friends, with copies of directions.
  • STEP 3 is
    add the following to your mixture.
  • 2/3 c
    oil
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 2 c
    flour (sift together dry ingredients)
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • STEP 4 is
    stir by hand and add the following
  • 1 c
    each: raisens, chopped nuts
  • 1 sm
    small can heavy syrpe crushed pineapple, (drained)

How To Make friendship cake

    BAKE IN GREASED TUBE PAN 45-55 MINUTES AT 350.

    TO MAKE BATTER TO START: 1 cup each flour, sugar, and milk, mix by hand, DO NOT REGREGERATE, lightly cover with foil, stirring once each day for 5 days, THEN START WITH DAY 1 = recieving batter USING ONLY 1 CUP....FREEZE OTHER 2 CUPS SEPARATELY FOR FUTURE USE. When you get to day 10 you can freeze three 1 cup batters and use in future or give to a friend with recipe.
